4th of July Fireworks and Summer Celebrations

Independence Day is thee holiday for fireworks, but that’s not the only time you can enjoy the booms & blasts of fireworks while you vacation in Pigeon Forge. But, let’s hit the holiday highlights of the best places to watch fireworks in Pigeon Forge and throughout the county on the 4th of July.

Patriot Festival
Head to Patriot Park for an afternoon of patriotic fun with food vendors and kid-friendly activities at the annual Patriot Festival. Plan to arrive early and plant your chair for the live music by “On The Border – The Ultimate Eagles Tribute!” ahead of the 2023 headliner Sara Evans.

Fireworks begin after dark. From the city of Pigeon Forge web site:
“Patriot Festival guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Umbrellas, tents, and coolers are not permitted. Food vendors will be available. Free parking is provided at the Teaster Lane Municipal parking lot, and a free shuttle operates every 20 minutes between the lot and festival site.”

Best Places to Watch Fireworks in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg

Gatlinburg Space Needle
A 20-minute fireworks extravaganza begins at 11 p.m. in downtown Gatlinburg at the Space Needle on Historic Nature Trail. Here are some of the best viewing locations:

Gatlinburg Skypark – Purchase your VIP fireworks viewing ticket to relax and watch from the top of Skypark mountain. Ticket includes all day access to the park on July 5th. Limited tickets available here.

Shamrock Pub Rooftop Bar – Head to the Shamrock and grab a cocktail to enjoy the fireworks from their rooftop bar. Call ahead (865) 412-1297 to confirm details.

Ripley’s Aquarium Plaza – Gather at the plaza in downtown Gatlinburg for a great fireworks view without having to join the crowds at the Space Needle. Arriving early is always a good idea!

Can’t make it to east Tennessee for Independence Day? You’re in luck because Dollywood offers fireworks every single night of their Smoky Mountain Summer Celebration which runs through August 6. At 9:40 p.m. each night, fireworks light up the sky along Veterans Blvd.

Love some baseball and hot dogs? The Tennessee Smokies are offering their Summer Fireworks Series again this year, during most Friday and Saturday night home games. Fireworks will begin immediately following the game.
