Pigeon Forge may be a once-in-a-lifetime vacation destination for some, but we’ve found that the folks who love visiting Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg generally visit more than once and often several times a year. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park calls everyone by name and there’s always something more exciting to see and do each and every year in Pigeon Forge. However – from time to time – we really should do something a little different, right?

We’ve found just the thing! If you’ve come to relax at Autumn Ridge Vacation Rentals and would like to do a little exploring, let us suggest a short day trip to Jefferson City. You can have an unhurried, easy morning or afternoon stroll through a eclectic collection of antique shops located under one roof at Mossy Creek Mercantile. The Mercantile is also home to Moon’s Coffee & Cafe. Could there be anything more enjoyable than a bite to eat, a great cup of coffee and antiquing? In just under 40 miles away, your day trip from Pigeon Forge to Jefferson City will take about an hour and you’ll enjoy the peaceful drive too!

Mossy Creek Mercantile owners Paula & Joe Gibson have opened their doors to more than 40 antique vendors who each have special collections, unique treasures and a wealth of history to offer. You’ll find antique toys, handmade quilts, collectible glassware and vintage “everything under the sun!” The store offers limited hours but is open every day; we suggest you call ahead at (865) 471-0808 to confirm as hours may change seasonally.

Located within Mossy Creek Mercantile is Moon’s Coffee & Cafe, owned by Lisa Moon. She prides herself in offering excellent food and a great cup of coffee! You can get sandwiches or a box lunch in the price range of $2.99-$7.99 and a specialty coffee, Latte, Chai, etc. from $2-$5. She also offers baked goods, smoothies and blenders, and other snacks at equally affordable prices. Menu items may vary based on availability and season, but you can bet you’ll find something that will want you coming back!
