Have you been in the Best Gift Idea Ever shop lately? If not, you’ll want to get there and quick!
You are probably familiar with ‘letter art’ featured by the shop that allows for spelling out 3-12 letter words using their in house photography of everyday objects that resemble letters. You choose the letters, the mat and frame, and then shop staff assembles and frames by hand. But, you might not be aware that the shop has added a new art form!
Now featured in the BGIE shop at The Village Shops in Gatlinburg is “Fire & Pine” by Artie Branch who brings his unique burnt art handmade in South Carolina to the Smoky Mountains of Gatlinburg.
Fire & Pine specializes in one-of-a-kind burnt wooden maps as well as historical maps from all over the country, ‘carved’ in natural, untreated pine wood and sealed with custom coatings.
As you would imagine, their most popular piece is a historic map of the Great Smoky Mountains from 1941. There are literally 100’s of pieces to choose from, and even more when you consider they accept custom orders. Choose your childhood home town, your favorite vacation destination, the city you currently live in or the country you dream of visiting. Any piece would be a welcomed addition to your home decor or a treasured gift.
