Taste of India Authentic Indian Food
When an Indian restaurant opens in a small southern town, people are there for it. Across the United States, in fact, scores of foodies and ordinary diners alike have become passionate about the flavors of the fascinating country on the faraway, exotic continent of Asia. Pigeon Forge is excited to welcome a new restaurant with an excellent take on the traditional flavors of India. The experience will wow your taste buds!
If you’re a guest at Autumn Ridge with a sophisticated palate, the newly-opened Taste of India at Pigeon Forge offers the perfect dining option for a relaxing evening out! The restaurant showcases both elegant ambiance and mouth-watering menu items. Conveniently located on the Parkway, this dining experience will make you feel as if you have taken a step into the fascinating world of Indian culture. The extensive and very authentic menu will have you coming back every time you visit Pigeon Forge!
Indian food, like most other cuisine, is best made completely from scratch. Taste of India understands this, and the chefs on board work tirelessly to make sure your food is not only homemade, but well-made! They understand the native cuisine and they put their best efforts into crafting the perfect menu and producing the best and most delicious product.
Appetizers include “Amritsari Fish” (swai fish in a special marinade of spices, yogurt and batter made with gram flour), “Chicken Lollipop,” (battered and fried chicken wings served in a special sauce), and “Tandoori Kabab,” (chicken leg pieces in a scrumptious marinade and cooked in a tandoor or large clay pot).
Other Tandoori dishes feature chicken, snapper, lamb and shrimp. There is naan (bread) available in various flavors. A scrumptious biryani menu (basmatic rice with patron’s choice of meat or vegetables and loaded with spices, choice yogurt, fresh herbs and festooned with nuts and raisins to create a symphony of flavor) tempts the most discriminating diner. Main courses are served at the customer’s spice level preference and with a choice of goat, lamb, chicken, fish or shrimp. The choice of curries (savory dishes created through a simmering technique combining spices and well-chosen vegetables and meats ) is extensive. There is a very thorough vegetarian menu at this wonderful restaurant as well!
What about the dessert-lover, you ask? Taste of India will not disappoint. The writer of this blog wanted to toss the computer and head to the restaurant as it became obvious that this place does sweets right. Indulge yourself with deep-fried pastry dough bathed in a special syrup of honey and sugar (gulab jamun), or try a savory/sweet combo by ordering fresh cheese soaked to perfection in sweet cream (rasmalai). These are just two of your choices. There are others to explore. Put three on the table and the two of you can sample them all. This will be a date to remember.
Again, when a new (and elegant) Indian restaurant comes to town, there’s quite a buzz about it. Taste of India has Pigeon Forge excited, and for all of the reasons mentioned here. If you have never tried Indian cuisine, treat yourself to this really special experience. The rich flavors which arise from the use of fresh, exotic spices are a true treat for any person. If you have shied away from the cuisine because you think it’s vastly different from what you’re used to, you should know that once you become acquainted with the practice of choosing how hot your wish for your dishes to be prepared as well as opening your mind to the idea that the food is actually very healthy on so many levels, you will find that you wish to dive right in! Indian food is incredibly satisfying and desperately delicious. You’ll be hooked!
